So, I'm in Provincetown,  and am opening tonight for the very funny and talented Poppy Champlin. Cool.

He's busy that night, though - with some blessed 'play date'. Rotten kid. Cute, but rotten. If you've got a PLAY DATE this SATURDAY (23rd) and want to shake it up a bit - take them to my show - 8:30 at the Black Door Bistro, in Montpelier.

another photo shoot

Jane and I broke the law (I know, AGAIN) and drove her car down onto the bikepath to haul the equipment necessary to have a successful photo shoot for ... for ... publicity. The results were mixed. For some reason, I thought the "wet look" had come back and poured water from an old coke bottle on my head every 5 minutes. Other than that, I had my typical 4-minute makeup routine going on (I love LASH BLAST). Jane thought that putting my makeup on in the car AND changing my shirt on the railroad tracks were two events that really could've happened in the privacy of our home but she and I just don't always see things the same way. Here are a few of the results. My 14 year old niece Sophie had the Jonas Brothers scanned onto her cake--- (Ok, I had Shaws scan them onto her cake) and although she liked the results, if only I had had these pix for that fine birthday event......alas.

Then Elton Came to Town

...and I did attend. I managed to get there nice and early, avoided the lovely ambiance of the 'beer garden' and handed my tickets to the nice blonde woman at the gate. We were of course smuggling in fine sandwiches from Sugarsnap, so I was sweating as she checked us out...Almost in when she notices my tickets are not for the EJ concert, but for my recent standup show, 'If You Lived Here...' - Jane and I had a nice quiet drive home to get the EJ tickets and still managed to 1. avoid the beer garden, 2. smuggle in sandwiches and 3. sit behind a science teacher and his lovely bride who were very frustrated at having to STAND when others stood to see Elton. alas. life is HARD Mr. Science.

Well, this summer's first fine standup show is less than 2 weeks away. It's 2 nights - Friday and Saturday, July 18th and 19th - me and Josie Leavitt - at Contois Auditorium. 

(I believe I took a dance class many years ago on the stage of the Auditorium) 

I have no photos or other memories from that time. That IS me above, however, taking a little time out from writing comedy with Paulie, a small creature Jane created.

The AMAZING Black Door Bistro

So it's in Montpelier. What's a little drive on the breathtaking interstate. They serve incredible food and have music and more importantly, standup comedy on a regular basis. I love it there. Check it out next month when Kathleen Kanz hosts the next Comedy Night - starring Kathleen her dry self, Tracie Spencer, Oliver Barkley, and Mike Robideau. I'm BACK.

And I've got a few comedy shows coming up - the first is a show at Contois Auditorium entitled: IF YOU LIVED HERE, YOU'D BE LAUGHING BY NOW - A Standup Comedy Show - with me and   Josie Leavitt performing.  It'll be a great weekend - shows on Friday AND Saturday July 18th and 19th. We've invited special guests Oliver Barkley, Kathleen Kanz and Chris Evans to join us. It'll be the EVENT of the summer-- If you missed out on Elton or Melissa tickets - we should be your backup to fine Vermont entertainment. Tell your friends. Tell the tourists you walk around on Church Street. Tickets are ON SALE at the FlynnCenter Box Office. Other than that, I'm just waiting for individuals I dislike (LISA - TOP CHEF) to get kicked off television. It's going to be a GREAT SUMMER. I'll have more shows soon. check back here. yes, I've invaded the airwaves. a little. Steve Zind of VPR was at the Black Door when I spoke lovingly of my first ski experience with my family and thought he'd share it with the loyal listeners of Vermont Public Radio. So. there you are. Carry On.

Although Eli was not in attendance, my most recent show, with the VT Comedy Divas went real well. If you missed it, you may feel pain when watching this fine video (made by Eva Sollberger of Seven Days Fame) and if you were AT THE SHOW, enjoy reliving some of your (and my) favorite moments. I chose to wear the same smart ensemble as I wore back at my IS YOU A GIRL? show, thinking.... "it's a bit summery, but it fits, so just get dressed". I try not to share these thoughts with Jane on the day of... It's all a bit much around the house on that day. Don't stop by to see. Just take my word.

VERMONT COMEDY DIVAS - NEXT SHOW!

so...the Vermont Comedy Divas are performing once more - in the BIG ROOM (I guess they call it the BALLROOM), which is odd because it used to be a movie theatre. ah well, we're there on SATURDAY, January 12th. 8:30. It WILL be a fine show. It will also sell out (because I know) so get your tickets NOW. (just an idea).

WHERE HAVE I BEEN?

OH HELLO. I've been in hospital, "major surgery" and then in bed, around my condo complex, light driving around town, and now...here. Why, you ask? Because I enjoy, yes, enjoy surgery and the time it takes for "recovery". I was able to watch the entire season of DEXTER, read 2 two books, and found a new, harsher judge on a minor television network. Love those nasty people in power...
